America's Real Source of Energy

Mining Society

All throughout our region of the country, we have mountains of energy—energy that powers America.  For the past hundred years, coal miners have proudly and efficiently delivered electricity to hundreds of millions of families around the world.

The Mining Society is a network of people, communities, organizations, and companies that support the mining of coal and those who do it, from municipal and county governments, chambers of commerce, business leaders, mining equipment providers, mine supply vendors, community foundations, or any business or entity living or operating in the coal fields who depend upon the good work of the men and women of the mining industry.

Coal mining has been the bedrock of our economy. By joining The Mining Society, you will network with like-minded groups and individuals who support the work of Remember The Miners, a non-profit public awareness campaign committed to telling the story of coal mining through events and media. You’ll also be supporting the Remember The Miners Scholars Program, a partnership of the West Virginia Coal Foundation and Remember The Miners to provide scholarships to sons and daughters of coal miners and those wishing to pursue a career in the mining industry.
